Item A RESEARCH TO DETERMINE THE ETHICAL CLIMATE PERCEPTION OF NURSES WHO WORK IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS(Journal of International Health Sciences and Management, 2021-10) AVÇİN, Emel; CAN, Şeyda; ERKOÇ, Beyza; YEŞİL, Fatma; ERDOĞAN, GürkanObjective: It’s imperative that organizations that want to exist in the business world where competition is intense and that want to ensure should create a positive ethical climate perception. The aim of this study was to determine the level of perceptions of the ethical climate of nurses who work in a private hospital and to determine whether ethical climate perceptions differ according to demographic characteristics. Methods: The study was conducted between July-September 2018 on 154 nurses working at two private hospitals(in Istanbul and Yalova). Research data were collected from nurses working in these hospitals. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study. Results: According to findings, it was determined that the ethical climate perception of the participants was generally positive. In dimensions, ethical climate perception was found most positive in patient dimension, while most negative in physicians dimension. At findings, the perception of ethical climate according to the gender of the participants differed statistically in the managers dimension and perception of ethical climate according to working time in hospital differed in patients dimension(p<0.05). Perception of ethical climate didn’t differed significantly with age, educational and marital status of participants (p>0.05). Conclusions: It was determined that the hospital ethical climate perceptions of the nurses in the study were highly positive, and this perception was influenced by gender and the year of work. The sub-dimension, where the ethical climate perception was the most negative, was the physician dimension. It’s thought that the results obtained can be a guide in supporting positive ethical behavior.Item COVİD-19 PANDEMİ SÜRECİNDE SAĞLIK ANKSİYETESİNİN YAŞAM DOYUMU ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ(Tıbbi Sosyal Hizmet Dergisi, 2021-06) AVÇİN, Emel; ERKOÇ, BeyzaBir yılı aşkın süredir dünya çapında yayılımını sürdüren bir pandemi haline gelen Covid-19 pandemisi, yalnızca toplumların beden sağlığını değil, ruh sağlığını da olumsuz şekilde etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada, Covid-19 pandemi sürecinde hissedilen sağlık anksiyetesi ve algılanan yaşam doyumunun çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi ve birbirleriyle olan ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Buradan hareketle, mesaj ya da mail yolu ile çevrimiçi online anket ile 18-65 yaş arası 405 erişkine ulaşılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında, “Katılımcı Bilgi Formu”, “Sağlık Anksiyetesi Ölçeği” ve “Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 20.0 programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Katılımcıların 219 (%54,1)’u kadın, 186 (%45,9)’sı erkektir. Kadın katılımcıların sağlık anksiyetesi ölçek puanları erkek katılımcılardan yüksektir ve aralarında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur (p˂0,05). Katılımcılardan Covid-19 tanısı almış olanların yaşam doyumu tanı almayanlara göre daha düşük olduğu saptanmış ve aralarında anlamlı fark belirlenmiştir (p˂0,05). Katılımcıların sağlık anksiyeteleri arttıkça yaşam doyumlarının azaldığı ve anlamlı ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir (r=-,103; p=,039). Pandemi sürecinde kişilerin sağlık anksiyetelerinin azaltılması, yaşam doyumlarının artırılması ve ruh sağlığının korunması için multidispliner hareket edilmeli, tedbirler uygulanmalı ve toplumun her kesimine ulaşılması hedeflenmelidir.Item Individuals' Reasons for Becoming Substance Addict According to Social Perspective: A Quantitative Study(Journal of Dependence, 2021) ERKOÇ, Beyza; AVÇİN, Emel; DANIŞ, Mehmet ZaferObjective: This study aimed to determine the reasons for individuals to be addicted to substances based on the social perspective and to reveal whether the results vary according to demographic characteristics. Method: The study data were obtained from 416 individuals between 18 and 65 who lived in Yalova between 01.10.2020 and 30.11.2020. Data were collected with the support of researchers and pollsters. Results: The 3- dimensions construct validity of the questionnaire form used to determine the perspective of the society on substance addiction was achieved. These dimensions were named as family, socio-cultural environment, and near-distant environment. The final questionnaire form, consisting of 18 questions, is scored between 0 and 5. The scores of the participants from the final questionnaire form: the immediate environment factor (4 questions) score is 13.63±4.77, the family factor (7 questions) score is 24.58±7.21, and the socio-cultural factor (7 questions) score is 24.57±6.66. Conclusion: The three dimensions in the final questionnaire form are significant in terms of individuals being addicted to substances.
