Diplomacy can be defined as the communication established by states for peaceful purposes through
their official representatives. Globalization, technological developments, advances in information and
communication networks have also led to the evolution of diplomacy. In this context, developing digital
diplomacy has brought with it the active use of social media in the foreign and domestic policies of states.
Thus, digital communication tools and techniques began to be used for diplomatic purposes. Digital
diplomacy, which plays an important role both in keeping up with the requirements of the age and in
informing/influencing more masses in a shorter time, provides convenience in the foreign policy process. In
the study, a general information about digital diplomacy was given.
