Item 19 Mayıs Kurtuluş Savaşı ve Gençlik Belgeseli(Yalova Üniversitesi, Sanat ve Tasarım Fakültesi, 2021-05) Küçükalkan, YavuzItem 1929 BÜYÜK BUHRANI’NDAN SONRA ALMANYA KOMÜNİST PARTİSİ’NİN SEÇİM KAMPANYALARI(Uluslararası Halkla İlişkiler ve Reklam Çalışmaları Dergisi, 2021) Karaca, Mustafa; Darı, Abdülhakim Bahadır; Çakı, CanerÇalışmada 1929 Büyük Buhranı’ndan sonra KPD’nin seçim kampanyalarında ne tür bir temel vaade yöneldiği ve bu temel vaadini ne şekilde sunduğunun ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışmada 14 Eylül 1930, 31 Temmuz 1932 ve 6 Kasım 1932 tarihlerinde Almanya’da gerçekleştirilen federal seçimlerde KPD’nin seçim kampanyalarında kullanılan posterleri incelenmiştir. Posterler, ABD’li dilbilimci Charles William Morris’in üç göstergebilim boyutu (sözdizimsel, anlambilimsel ve edimbilimsel) üzerinden analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgularda, KPD’nin posterler üzerinden komünist yönetimi yücelttiği ve komünist yönetim olarak da Sovyetler Birliği’ni idealize ettiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Komünist rejim altında yönetilen Sovyetler Birliği’nde 1929 Büyük Buhranı’nın etkisinin sınırlı olduğu düşünüldüğünde çalışmada posterler üzerinden KPD’nin liderliğinde Almanya’da da komünist bir yönetimin kurulmasıyla ülkede ekonomik buhranın etkili olamayacağı temel mesajının verildiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Item 1989 Kurtarmaya Dair Milletlerarası Sözleşme ile Deniz Çevresinin Korunması(SELÇUK ÜNİVERSİTESİ HUKUK FAKÜLTESİ DERGİSİ, 2021-09-15) AKKAYA, ALPERENÇevre kirliliği günümüzün en önemli sorunlarındandır birisidir. Devletler ve ilgili kuruluşlar bu sorunun üstesinden gelmek için gerek uluslararası gerekse ulusal anlamda bir takım koruyucu adımlar atmaktadır. Bu adımların kapsamına deniz çevresinin korunması da girmektedir. Asli amacı deniz kirliliğini en aza indirmek olan düzenlemelerin yanında kurtarma rejimi gibi diğer denizcilik düzenlemelerinde de sık sık çevre kirliliği üzerinde durulduğu görülmektedir. 1980’li yıllara kadar kurtarma rejiminde deniz çevresinin korunması ile ilgili herhangi bir düzenleme bulunmamaktaydı. Deniz kazaları sonucu meydana gelen kirlilik ile mücadelede en ön safta yer alan kurtaranlar için deniz çevresinin korunmasını teşvik eden kuralların getirilmesi, LOF 80 kurtarma sözleşmesi ile başlamıştır. Sözleşmeyi takiben 1989 tarihli “Kurtarmaya Dair Milletlerarası Sözleşme” ve LOF 2000’ne eklenen SCOPIC ile klozu kurtarma rejimindeki çevre bilinci geliştirilmiştir. It can produce materials with desired mechanical and structural properties with 3D technologies. As compared to traditional production methods, the promising technology provides flexibility in product design, and contributes to increase material, energy, and cost efficiency in manufacturing system. Herein, 3B printer technologies are divided into seven different groups according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) classification. AM methods are explained by considering working principles, and the type of material, as well as studies conducted with 3B printers using these methods were examined. This study shows that in 3D printer technologies, polymers, metals and alloys, ceramics and composite materials can be utilized as raw materials and post-printing secondary processes promote to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties. On the other hand, the technologies have been expected to open new horizons for easily creating prototypes and production of components using plastics, metals, metal alloys and ceramic materials used in a wide range of industrial sectors, including automotive, defence, aerospace, and rail transport. Nowadays, the number of raw materials for 3D technologies are limited and, recent studies should be directed to investigate new materials.Item 8 mart Dünya Emekçi Kadınlar Günü(Yalova Üniversitesi, Sanat ve Tasarım Fakültesi, 2021-03) Küçükalkan, YavuzItem A Book Recommendation System Using Decision Tree-based Fuzzy Logic for E-Commerce Sites(IEEE, 2021-06-25) Uçar, MetehanRecommendation systems are systems developed to advise users on the most accurate product, especially on e-commerce sites, movie viewing platforms, and music listening platforms. Nowadays, the increasing number of studies on data is led to applying different methods in recommendation systems. A fuzzy-logic-based product recommendation system is proposed for users who want to buy books on e-commerce sites in the study. Clustering is made using unsupervised learning with information from the “also bought-viewed” book data. A decision tree model is created with the data set. The rules of the Fuzzy model used in the study are created by using this decision tree. It is observed that successful results are obtained when tests are performed with actual data and decision trees, and fuzzy models are used together. Usually, in fuzzy models, data is not required. It is necessary to know the parameters and their effects during the design of the model. However, it will be complicated to determine rules in complex and challenging models like as in this study. As a result of the successful results obtained in this study, it has been shown that the rules are created quickly and accurately with the help of a method such as decision trees.Item A Numerical Study About the Effects of Design and Test Parameters on the Crushing Behavior of a Truncated Cone(TUBITAK ULAKBIM, 2021-04-30)A numerical study was performed on the crushing behavior of an aluminum truncated cone structure for different design parameters and test speeds. Numerical models were prepared in the Ls-Prepost v4.7.1 software, and simulations were run in the Ls-Dyna solver. The Mat_18 power law plasticity and Mat_20 rigid material models were used for mimicking the behaviors of the aluminum tube and rigid plate, respectively. The effects of three different parameters as the ratio of the bottom and top diameters, contact angle of the rigid plate and test speed were investigated. Force-displacement curves for each case were obtained and evaluated to understand the crushing behaviors of the geometries with the aforementioned parameters. The geometry which had the 2.5 bottom/top diameter ratio performed the highest energy absorption among all geometries.Item A Relative Assessment of the Life-Cycle Costs of Rigid and Flexible Pavement Coatings in Turkey(European Journal of Science and Technology, 2020-01-01) Abut, YavuzChoosing pavement type is a challenging and much-debated issue among public authorities. It includes engineering factors such as materials, labor, and long-term performance within the scope of the initial (construction) and life-cycle costs. In recent years, given the significant public expenditure on road construction and rehabilitation processes, the trends in vehicle ownership caused by an increasing need to travel, and the decrease in local resources, concerns have been raised about the efficiency of pavement coating types. To ensure that taxpayers understand the full value of road expenditure, it is important to identify a coating type selection process that seeks to include the most appropriate construction, maintenance, and repair strategies possible. In this study, an LCCA was performed for a 2.2 km–long Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) test track constructed in Kocaeli city. If asphalt is chosen instead of RCC as the coating preference, the economic factors that may arise at a national scale (in this case, Turkey) are discussed. During the 20-year service period, maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation planning were carried out on the basis of a 30-year analysis period. In terms of initial construction costs, an RCC road is 39.4 more economical than an asphalt road and provides maintenance and repair economies of 62 during the service period. In terms of life-cycle costs, an RCC road is a 46 more economical paving alternative than an asphalt road. Although the first serious maintenance activity was carried out in the 10th and 20th years of the asphalt road, it was significant that it only took place during the 20th year for the RCC road, and the asphalt maintenance material was more expensive than that for the RCC road.Item A Research to Determine the Ethical Climate Perception of Nurses Who Work In Private Hospitals(2021) Avçin, Emel; Can, Şeyda; Erkoç, Beyza; Yeşil, Fatma; Erdoğan, GürkanObjective: It’s imperative that organizations that want to exist in the business world where competition is intense and that want to ensure should create a positive ethical climate perception. The aim of this study was to determine the level of perceptions of the ethical climate of nurses who work in a private hospital and to determine whether ethical climate perceptions differ according to demographic characteristics. Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study was conducted between July-September 2018 on 154 nurses working at two private hospitals (in Istanbul and Yalova). Research data were collected from nurses working in these hospitals. In data collection, Information Form and Hospital Ethical Climate Scale were used. Results: According to findings, it was determined that the ethical climate perception of the participants was generally positive. In dimensions, ethical climate perception was found most positive in patient dimension, while most negative in physicians dimension. At findings, the perception of ethical climate according to the gender of the participants differed statistically in the managers dimension and perception of ethical climate according to working time in hospital differed in patients dimension(p<0.05). Perception of ethical climate didn’t differed significantly with age, educational and marital status of participants (p>0.05). Conclusions: It was determined that the hospital ethical climate perceptions of the nurses in the study were highly positive, and this perception was influenced by gender and the year of work. The subdimension, where the ethical climate perception was the most negative, was the physician dimension. Since from its conception, cinema, has renovated itself through auteur directors and their styles and movements. And one of cinema’s greatest building block have always been editing which gave its finalized form. The artist can reflect his/her aesthetic language and can direct his/her narrative through the usage of editing. This reflection and direction make the editing one of the more fundamental dynamics of the art of filmmaking. Especially Russian Avant-garde filmmakers developed various editing techniques to make the narrative of the movie to reflect subjective and social realities in a way that it is closer to the “truth” while also placing it in the center of the cinematic narrative. In time, editing become free from its shackles and opened itself to experimental cinema. The editing techniques that were invented to relay the truth better became one of the tools that let artists detach themselves from reality to better articulate their points. This research aims to investigate the role of editing that made detachment of the artist in their own cinematic narrative from their realities. This research will examine Stan Barkhage’s Visions in Meditation (1989-1990) short movie tetralogy through the exemplifications of Eisenstein’s avant-garde editing styles that underlies editing in cinema and Vertov’s avant-garde brotherhood while utilizing literature reviews and content analyses methodologies. Therefore, it can be said that forensic psychology is located at the intersection of law and psychology and is a subfield of legal psychology. In this context, since the reliability of witness statement can be determined by methods related to psychology, it constitutes the subject of forensic psychology under the heading of statement psychology. The witness statement, which is a frequently referenced evidence in the criminal trial and its reliability is in close contact with the accuracy of the statement. Since the witness may make false statements for various reasons, the accuracy of the statement is often controversial. The reason why the witness statement does not match with the truth may be related to the cognitive process that occurs in the form of feeling, perception, remembering and making statements. However, the witness may knowingly misrepresent the truth because of social or personal reasons. In other words, the witness can lie. In this study, false witness statements will be discussed within the framework of forensic psychology and from both angles.Item Adsorption efficiency of sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone)(sPEEK) as a novel low-cost polymeric adsorbent for cationic organic dyes removal from aqueous solution(JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR LIQUIDS, 2021) Hızal, Jülide; Yılmazoğlu, Mesut; Kanmaz, NergizThe aim of this study is to investigate the methylene blue (MB) and basic violet 16 (BV16) as cationic organic dyes adsorption on sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (sPEEK) in aqueous solution. sPEEK was synthesized, then characterized by FTIR, SEM, TGA, BET/N2 surface area analysis, particle size and zeta potential measurements. Batch experiments were performed to analyze the effects of key parameters such as contact time, initial concentration and pH on MB and BV16 adsorptions. Additionally, temperature effect was investigated for MB adsorption. Kinetic data revealed that cationic dyes adsorptions were well-fitted by pseudo-second order kinetic model. The required times to achieve equilibrium were determined as 40 and 20 min for MB and BV16, respectively. The adsorptions showed Langmuirian character, and the maximum adsorption capacities were found to be 98.04 mg/g (0.29 mmol/g) for MB, and 181.8 mg/g (0.50 mmol/g) for BV16. The thermodynamic data showed that the MB adsorption was an endothermic process occuring spontaneously at room temperature. Desorption and recycling experiments showed that the adsorption efficiency decreased from 99.6% to 99.2% after the fifth cycle, pointing out sPEEK reusability for MB removal.
